I’ve had denim on my mind in a big way….
Firstly I’ve been working on a denim story for InStyle, which involved calling in almost every pair of jeans in Australia. I’m not joking when I say this; I literally had hundreds off pairs flooding the cupboard and piled on my desk.
Couple that with my personal search for the perfect cropped/frayed jeans to work back with all my polished tops and knits for winter. In the lead up to fashion week I thought I had hit the jackpot when I found this Rachel Comey pair. Alas, my discovery led to disappointment when I realised they were only available for pre-order (the exxy price tag didn’t help either).
Then I stumbled upon Vale denim on Instagram (AKA the source of all inspiration and emerging labels worth knowing). The brand new Australian label was exactly what I was after. Not only fulfilling my desire for the perfect frayed jeans, but also filling a gaping hole in the denim market. Yip there are plenty of denim brands out there, but not many that offer on-trend pieces and cool new cuts (without the Marques’ Almeida price point).
So I need to wrap up this rant… but if you want to shop Vale they’ve been picked up by Myer (in their first season!) so you can shop online here.
Oh and despite freezing temperatures I had to show off this beautiful one shoulder YB J’aime top. It’s one of my favourite pieces from Yeojin’s latest collection…
