A white shirt is pretty much the foundation of my work to weekend wardrobe. They look sharp, can be dressed up or down, and work back with pretty much everything. To celebrate the release of Karen Millen’s White Shirt Collection, I collaborated with them to show you a few of my favourite ways to style back the white shirt, for every occasion.
1. Working on the go
This is my running out the door, en to appointments or a shoot (always with a coffee in hand) look. I always keep things simple when I’m on the job, and there’s nothing like a pair of cropped trousers, a tailored jacket, and a pair loafers to keep you feeling comfortable and together. For something a little different, I opted for a navy tailored combo, with a fresh contrast of white to tie back in with this crisp, sleeveless shirt.
2. Office days meetings
When I know I have a busy office day ahead, with a few client meetings and design reviews, I like to pull together a look that’s stylish and functional. A two piece suit is always great to have on hand, all you have to do is add a tailored white shirt and a pair of heels, and you’re ready to go.
3. Keeping it casual
What could be more classic than a white shirt with denim? This style features a more oversized cut, which is perfect paired back with skinny leg jeans and white trainers. Add your favourite pair of sunglasses, and you’re ready for a weekend beachside lunch followed by an afternoon coastal walk with friends.
4. After Hours
When work is done for the day and it’s time for drinks and dinner, I love being able to quickly translate a day look to work for evening. Here I’ve added a pair of skinny leather-look leggings back with a shirt I wear on the regular. Then I look to accessories to tie it all together and make things a little more dressy. I’m loving wearing a red lip lately, and the pop of the red suede bag contrasts nicely against my go-to black and white.
