Last November, my husband and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at The One & Only Wolgan Valley in collaboration with Mastercard’s Priceless Cities. A resort tucked away on an incredible 7,000 Acres of land, One & Only truly captures the spirit of Australia with its captivating surrounds, very loveable wildlife and completely deliscous food.
Upon checking in, we were greeted with a glass of bubbles (made especially for the resort – just try to stop at one) and then shown down to the casual dining area by the pool for lunch. Everything about Wolgan is truly breathtaking, the atmosphere, the service, and the food – the food is just that good. After lunch we checked into out room, a luxuriously sized cottage complete with its own private plunge pool. Most of the fittings for these incredible cabins are custom, and the oversized, cosy bed and generous bath tub are particularly luxurious. The showers are also fitted with skylights above which means you might get to see one or two cute little birdies during your morning wake up. Don’t be surprised to find the occasional wallaroo at your door either!
A few of my recommendations would be taking your bikes for a spin down to the Platypus lookout (we sadly didn’t see one, but it’s still a beautiful spot), going for a horse ride, starting your morning with an energising yoga class before your breakfast, and trying one of their wildlife tours. If you’re all about getting that stunning sunset shot, a walk out to the 1832 Homestead before dusk is a must-see. Be prepared to be surrounded by kangaroos and incredible mountains in all directions.
