WhatIWore: Do all mothers pause on their child’s birthday to wonder how the time flies so quickly? I remember thinking he was such a big boy on his first birthday, but now we’re having full conversations and he’s asking me all of these big questions and he’s such a joy to be around. Of course there’s the average three year old letting loose here and there, but he’s a really such a cool kiddo. We love him so dearly!
This is what I wore for a day out and about with my kids! We did a big stroller walk through town, went out to lunch with papa and then made cupcakes at home and opened presents. When I was growing up my parents always fixed me the meal of my choice, we did cake and then… at the very end of the day we opened our present. This year Adam came home early with three red balloons and we thought this feels festive- why not just do it now? So we had cupcakes before dinner, Felix unwrapped his box of TicTacs (and a few other goodies) and it was just… wonderful! So simple and so special – just the way birthdays should be!
When: August 31, 2017

Also! This souvenir style tee shirt! Have I ever been to Italy? No! But I liked the color and went for it. It didn’t occur to me until later that my parents brought home a tee shirt for me like this when I was in the 4th grade that was super similar but black on white! It was probably a men’s small and I was maybe 85 pounds dripping wet but I wore that with my perm and faux Keds like I was the boss. It’s long gone from a garage sale now, but I’m glad this shirt can remind me of my early interest in fashion. (Which I say lightly because…. oversized poofed out tee shirts were likely only a thing with midwestern suburban tweens)
