If you love a market, Melbourne is set to deliver over the next few weeks, with a few major ones setting up shop across the city ahead of the Christmas rush.
I love supporting local designers and talented artisans creating all kinds of wonderful things that, let’s be honest, even if I could conceptualise I’d never have the skill or patience to pull together. These guys have you covered.
Buy unique works by RMIT alumni and current students, including jewellery, ceramics, textiles, sculpture, homewares and more. You’ll find it on the link bridge between Melbourne Central and Emporium.
NB There’ll also be styling sessions, Trophy Wife nail art, and discounts from almost every store in the centre, if you really want to make a dent on that Christmas list.
Etsy Night Out : The much-loved Etsy is holding a one-off pop up market in Melbourne, with a feast of one-of-a-kind gifts from more than 35 local Etsy sellers, at the Rose St Artist Market, on Friday November 28.
Sometimes the range of amazingness on offer at Etsy is overwhelming (I recall my own recent clickhole into the world of Macrame hanging planters), so it’s nice to have it all in the one place, rather than sitting in your favourite list, right?
For those unfamiliar, you’ll find the market at 60 Rose St, Fitzroy, but it’ll only be popping up for 4 short hours from 6pm until 10, so be sure to get in quickly!
(Below: this Mi Goals/Bianca Cash collab will be available at the market .. *favourites diary*)
The Big Design Market : They’re not kidding when they say ‘big’. This market is being held at Melbourne’s Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton, over three days from December 5-7.
You’ll have more than 200 stalls to peruse, with art and design, homewares, lifestyle and kids products, plus plenty of others on offer. All in the beautiful surrounds of the Exhibition Building. Entry is $2.
If you like the look of the below planters, keep and eye out for ‘Angus & Celeste’ at the market.
And if you can’t make them all, make sure to visit at least one! Let me know what you find.
